Connected Brain Counseling: Your Source for Board Certified ADHD Evaluators

Are you in need of an ADHD evaluation in Denver? Connected Brain Counseling is here to help. Our board certified therapists are experienced in providing comprehensive ADHD evaluations and use state-of-the-art neurofeedback techniques to treat ADD and ADHD. Our form of ADHD evaluation goes far beyond talking about ADHD. We look at what parts of the brain are over-firing and under-firing that may be creating symptoms associated with ADD/ADHD. We are dedicated to helping you find the best possible solution for your ADHD whether it with neurofeedback, talk therapy or a combination of the two.

What to Expect From qEEG Brain Mapping for ADHD Evaluation

If you’re seeking an ADHD evaluation, you may have heard of qEEG brain mapping as a tool for diagnosing ADHD. But what is it, and what can you expect from the evaluation?

A qEEG brain map measures electrical activity in the brain, using electrodes placed on the scalp. The results can reveal areas of the brain that may be underactive or overactive, helping to pinpoint potential ADHD symptoms.

During the evaluation, you’ll wear a cap with electrodes while resting quietly with your eyes closed. The data is recorded and analyzed by a board-certified practitioner with expertise in qEEG and ADHD.

The results of the brain map can provide insight into ADHD symptoms and severity, and help to create a personalized treatment plan. Neurofeedback, a non-invasive technique, can also be used to retrain the brain and improve symptoms.

At Connected Brain Counseling, our board-certified therapists use qEEG brain mapping to diagnose and treat ADHD. Our approach is based on clinical research, and our services have clinically proven results.

Why Choose a Brain Map for An ADHD Evaluation?

If you or a loved one is seeking an ADHD evaluation, you may be wondering what the best approach is. At Connected Brain Counseling, we highly recommend using a qEEG brain mapping assessment as part of the evaluation process. Here’s why:

– It provides a comprehensive assessment: AqEEG brain map provides an objective and detailed view of brain activity and connectivity. This can help identify areas of over or underactivity, as well as potential imbalances between different regions of the brain. This information can help inform a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.

– It is non-invasive and safe: Unlike other types of medical imaging, aqEEG brain mapping is completely non-invasive. There is no radiation exposure and no need for anesthesia. This makes it a safe and easy way to get a more accurate understanding of your brain function.

– It is personalized: Each individual’s brain map is unique to them. This means that the assessment is tailored to each person’s specific needs and challenges. This personalized approach can lead to more effective and targeted treatment strategies.

– It can track progress over time: After an initial brain map, follow-up assessments can be done to track progress and determine if treatment strategies are effective. This can provide valuable insight into how a person is responding to treatment and if adjustments need to be made.

Our Approach to Treating ADHD – Medication Free!

At Connected Brain Counseling, we understand that medication may not be the best option for every person with ADHD. That’s why we offer a medication-free approach to treatment that utilizes the latest neurofeedback techniques.

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive therapy that helps individuals with ADHD to retrain their brains and regulate their own behavior. By measuring the electrical activity in the brain using qEEG brain mapping technology, we can identify areas of the brain that are not functioning as they should and teach the patient how to strengthen these areas through targeted neurofeedback training.

This approach has been shown to be highly effective for individuals with ADHD, helping them to improve their focus, attention, and impulse control without the use of medication. Additionally, because neurofeedback is a natural therapy that works with the brain’s own processes, it has fewer side effects and is less invasive than traditional medication-based treatments.

Sydney Focht, MA, LPC

Clinical Director & Counselor

I specialize in working with women in their 20s to 50s who struggle with self-worth, self-esteem, and the guilt that often comes with prioritizing themselves. Finding self-trust and the ability to feel worthy of happiness are common topics in my work. My clients tend to put off therapy because they downplay their struggles, describing their pain as ‘not that big of a deal.’ Many of them grew up in households where expressing emotions wasn’t encouraged and they are still looking for security now. My goal is to create a space where you feel completely free to be yourself—no pressure, no expectations. Therapy with me isn’t about either of us being ‘perfect’—it’s more about you feeling safe, seen, and supported as you figure things out in a way that works for you. I prioritize meaningful conversations that get to the heart of the issue, getting to the root and out of surface level conversation quickly. Going through my own therapy has given me a deeper understanding of what it’s like to be in the client’s seat, and it’s made me even more passionate about helping others find the support that truly works for them. My clients describe me as focused, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and down-to-earth. I truly love what I do and that comes through in my work! I’m a person-centered therapist, but I often integrate elements of Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and IFS.
